Full review
The Reebok Nano X3 is a cross-training shoe built for athletes who move between lifting, running, and high-intensity intervals without wanting to change footwear mid-workout. Its foundation is a dual-density Floatride Energy Foam midsole that balances cushioning with the stability needed for heavy squats and explosive box jumps alike. The design keeps the sole firmer at the heel and midfoot for a solid base under load, while adding just enough responsiveness up front for lateral shuffles, burpees, and short sprints. This makes it a true hybrid trainer rather than a shoe compromised in either direction.
The upper of the Nano X3 uses a breathable woven mesh reinforced with a supportive external heel counter and a wraparound lacing cage, giving the foot a locked-in feel during rope climbs, agility drills, or when pivoting under a barbell. Reebok also added a wider forefoot toe box compared to earlier Nano models, allowing toes to splay naturally during heavy lifts and improving proprioception during unweighted movements like double-unders or shuttle runs. Reinforced rubber overlays wrap around key wear zones, protecting the upper from abrasion caused by rope climbs or repeated ground contact in burpees, extending the shoe's usable life in demanding gym environments.
Underfoot, the outsole features a durable rubber compound with a flex groove pattern designed to support quick multidirectional changes without sacrificing grip on turf, rubber flooring, or asphalt. The shoe's stability under load is enhanced by a wider platform and low-to-the-ground stance, both hallmarks of the Nano lineage that competitive functional fitness athletes have relied on for years. Whether used for daily CrossFit-style circuits, treadmill intervals, or general strength and conditioning work, the Nano X3 delivers a versatile, supportive ride that adapts to the shifting demands of a modern training session.
Customer reviews
I use these for CrossFit five days a week and they hold up incredibly well. The heel stability during squats is noticeably better than my old pair.
Love these for lifting and box jumps, but they feel a bit clunky if I try to run more than a mile. Perfect for mixed training days though.
After months of rope climbs and burpees, the toe cage still looks solid. True to size and breathable even during sweaty sessions.
Slightly improved cushioning compared to the previous version. Took about a week to break in but now they're my go-to training shoe.
